Love the salad rolls, best I’ve ever had. Can’t beat the stuffed tofu, could eat everyday. Cheap & delicious
A Must!. This hole-in-the wall place is truly a gem! Their salad rolls are fresh and paired perfectly with a spicy peanut sauce. The service is outstanding and they speak english and are willing to help you. The dessert Che Van (3 colors) is simply the best creation on this planet.. The mixture of rich coconut milk with azuki beans, water chestnut, and tapioca is enough to induce a heaven type state.
Exquisite Tofu, Exquisite Establishment. I arrived at 11:20 am on a Tuesday, and this tofu-producing restaurant was already busy enough, that I had to park down the block.Salad rolls: Best in Portland, bar none. Plump, -fresh-, bright red shrimp inside immaculately filled and rolled rice wrappers, redolent of just-torn basil. Instead of the traditional pork, these salad rolls featured long, thin, milky slices of the house’s signature tofu. Magnificent. The peanut dipping sauce? Best in Portland, again.I bought four cha gio (good, though microwaved some hours later), six thin blocks of tofu (I’ll be making miso soup later this week) and two of those beautiful, plump salad rolls. $11. A steal.Wonderful smiling service from the women behind the counter. As a bonus: This place is absolutely, immaculately clean. Wow!!
The best salad rolls in PDX. I love their peanut sauce because they put a lot of chili oil in it. Also, their fried tofu is great, with wood mushrooms, green onions and vermicelli noodles in it.
It’s a Tofu Factory!. Bui Natural Tofu is, as you might imagine from the name, a tofu producing establishment. There are a couple of tables in front, and they offer spring rolls, some rice dishes etc., but it’s basically a takeout-oriented business selling fresh-made Vietnamese style tofu. Which is awesome. The spicy lemongrass fried tofu is irresistably deliciouslearn from my experience and buy an extra box, lest you eat it all before you get it home. The mushroom-shallot-glassnoodle tofu is equally yum (and appears in dishes at Mekong Grill), and if you’re into making your own tofu, or just want some very fresh, raw soymilk, they sell it by the jug.
