Red Bamboo is a small, charming, vegan comfort food spot. The ambience of the place is calm, with dim lighting and intimate seating, perfect for a date night. The service is welcoming and just as charming as the decor of the place. The menu is long with a myriad of options that will satisfy vegans and non-vegans alike. My partner (not vegan) and I (very vegan) started the meal with the dumplings and chicken satay. The dumplings were perfect with wonderfully seasoned stuffing, and an amazing ginger sauce! My partner loved his chicken satay starter, and was very impressed with the imitation chicken used…almost a little too real for me! For entrees I had the coconut chicken and my partner the sesame beef. Again, both so good! The coconut chicken was wonderfully battered and crispy on the outside with a moist inside. My partner was also again impressed with his vegan meat and cleaned the entire plate! We finished the meal with a huge mint chocolate chip milkshake! Perfect for the two of us to share, and extremely yummy! Decent prices for decent portions. I always recommend this place to anyone visiting, and always look forward to it when I make my own visits!

This one’s really helpful for those of us that don’t eat meat, but miss it. There’s no reason not to give it a chance–their vegetarian pork, beef, and chicken are all satisfying right down to the texture(something many people but not myself take really seriously.) Sauces provided tend to really complement the dishes. They have various ways of seasoning the different types of fake meat(Hawaiian style, etc.) which provides variety you wouldn’t expect. I know some tofu-based imitation meat disappoints, but this one’s not likely to. Even a major carnivore friend of mine loves this place, and I see why–I was one too shortly before discovering it. I could pretty much just suggest you try anything that looks good here, and almost guarantee satisfaction. Not the cheapest place to eat, but not nearly as bad as one would expect. Staff is helpful.

Red Bamboo will always have a special place in my heart. In my early days of being vegan (over a dozen years ago), this cozy little gem was my place of comfort and celebration. Fast forward to early-2016, I just had to visit there on my trip to NY. Brought back such lovely memories and I was really pleased with how the quality of the food and service has been maintained. So happy that they’re going strong after so many years and wish them many more. The food could be slightly less oily and then it would be just perfect. The Roti Canai, Thai Rice Paper Rolls and Pista Ice Cream are a must try. The portion sizes, especially for the ice cream, are super generous!

Fantastic! I keep coming back to try different things on their menu. Their BBQ ribs is delicious. Roti canai was good also, the roti was flakey and tasty. The stew was wonderful. It was spicy but so good, there’s potatoes and a big chunk of soy meat. I really liked it. The BBQ ribs came with mashed potatoes which weren’t bad, the greens were perfect. I had the steak recently and it tasty. Ive never had vegan steak like that before. It was grilled and it was cooked perfectly with the greens and potatoes on the side. I tried their tempura broccoli & sweet potatoes, they were crispy. The pistachio ice cream was a nice treat. It wasnt too sweet and one scoop was just the right amount. Their chocolate cake is delectable. There is enough food to share so try a little of everything and save room for dessert. The food always comes quickly, and the wait isnt too long to be seated. My top vegan restaurant on my list.

This place is a tucked away treasure. We ordered spring rolls and veggie lo mein and couldn’t be happier. Very filling and definitely super satisfied with our meal. The staff is also super friendly and hip. Loved the vibes.

Amazing Vegetarian Food!. Usually when you think of vegetarian food places, your kinda of left hesitant about going – will the food actually taste any good? Me and my boyfriend recently visited NY this year and happened to go to Red Bamboo on basically a whim – it was raining and after walking around for a bit – we decided to hop in. The atmosphere looked appealing from the outside and so we decided to give it a shot not really knowing that it was a vegetarian restaurant. We both were very pleasantly surprised! Not only is the food of amazing quality, taste, and presentation – it all comes for a fairly decent price as well! Would definitely recommend 🙂
