This was one crowded restaurant. The space isn’t small, but they definitely had more people than what the restaurant could adequately hold. It was therefore loud and difficult to maneuver your way to the bathroom. As many other diners have pointed out, the food is spectacular. We particularly enjoyed the cojonudo, which is chorizo with a quail egg on top of toast. It was phenomenal, we ordered it twice. We also enjoyed their Hanger steak tapas special. The meat was nicely cooked, juicy, seasoned well, and it just melted in your mouth (as much as steak can). The tortilla Espaola was good too. Decent portion! We didn’t care for the extra spiciness on their patatas bravas. And finally, we ended with the turrn, a fluffy, creamy, and decadent almond/hazelnut cake. The service was atrocious. It was slow, low energy, and very uninformative. Our water was never refilled. We would have order more wine and food, but we just didn’t have the patience to wait for the waitress. Which is too bad, as it completely hinders the experience.

The food is phenomenal and I will likely return. The only thing I wasn’t too happy with is their service, but everything else is really great. Great food, great ambiance, great drinks!! We always their seafood paella, it’s perfect! All their proteins are cooked to the tee on point!

Nothing like real tapas. Super disapointed. The tortilla was cold, the patatas bravas appear to have canned tomaro sauce. The sangria took so long to come that we had to cancel the order

Quaint quarters, tasty tapas, and stupendous staff should summarise Boqueria well. This place is also great for a boozy lunch with friends. Try the Dtiles con Beicon, Patatas Bravas, Pan con Tomate and of course the Jamn Serrano!

Weve had tapas in Melbourne, but nothing like Boqueria. Amongst a quiet dreary neighbourhood tucked in a small corner, youll find this vibrant place thats full of energy and life. A favourite among locals, this place serves phenomenal spanish tapas.Favourites on the menu included:Fried quail eggs with chorizo on toast little bit of luxury with every mouthfulPatatas Bravas crispy potatoes, salsa brava and roasted garlic aoili. This will honestly blow your mind! Its essentially a unique twist on the humble potato with an explosion of tangy flavoursGambas al Ajillo shrimp garlic and guindilla pepper in olive oil; a rich and luxurious tasting prawn dish with fresh flavours and a buttery hit deathbyluxe.com

I lived in Spain and I must say that Boqueria did not disappoint!! I visited the Flatiron location and enjoyed seeing the typically Spanish mob of people standing by the bar, existing harmoniously alongside the typically American tables and chairs. The mushroom croquetas were creamy and delightful, while the lomo ibrico was perfectly aged and delicious. Everything I ordered was simply a delight. The only downside were the unavoidable NYC prices but it was worth every penny!
