The Best Italian Food. Had dinner here last night. And as always was blown away. Simply the best Italian food ever with rustic old school italian dishes. A must try if you looking for great Italian food.
Special occasion and the worst experience !!! The appetizers were ok , and my main dish was good . My husband’s dish on the other hand was not. They agreed they would take it off the bill and when we attempted to order another dish they refused to show us the menu and Apparently the manager told the waiter to give us a check instead and refused to show us the menu to order something else ! Beyond appalling !!! We paid the bill and left. Never experienced anything like this for sure ! Horrifying !!!!!!!!24 Mar, 2013The worst Dining experience I ever experienced. !!!! Horrible
Extremely Rude Service. The food was excellent. The service was arrogantly disrespectful. Reservations for 10pm, did not get seated until 10:30. Waiter came to our table a total of 2 times. He simply ruined our entire dinner. I will never go back here.
Poor Waiter-the reason not to return. Its simple…good food, nice but noisey place, very rude and embarrassing staff. Waiter spoiled the night with embarrassment about a tip that he certainly had not earned. Contrary to his loud announcement at our table 20% is not the minimum tip in an NYC resturant!
Horrible, Gone Way, Way Downhill!. Been here several times in the past, and WOW…in our opinion this place has gone way, way downhill. Group of us came in for dinner and had a horrible experience from rude bar service, inadequate wait staff, signature dishes we once used to love were now nearly inedible, . And, the attitude of the inept staff and management team…completely sub-par and unapologetic! We will not be returning ever…and regret having gone on this occasion. In our opinion, Peasant is a restaurant that no longer is a desirable dining experience…skip it!!!
Excellent. Peasant is a great find in New York. We had an excellent 5 course meal here (starter, pasta, second (Porchetta), desert and coffee) with wine, coffee for about 200 dollars. It was a fabulous evening we dined for about 2 hours in all it was a very pleasant evening. The home made pasta was delicious. The porchetta was good but not quite as good as in my home town in Italy, but it was the best I have had on this side of the pond. The staff were very polite and the view of the kitchens with all the open fires is incredible. When I’m back in New York I will calling here again, that’s for sure.
