Stumbled upon this wonderful steakhouse while exploring the Seaport section of Manhattan. So glad we did. From the time we walked in until the time we left we were treated like royalty. Our waiter Michael was AWESOME!!! Recommendations were spot on. The ladies enjoyed the filet mignon (7-8 oz serving size) salad while the guys jumped in for the Tomahawk Ribeye at his suggestion. Steak was cooked to perfection at the temperature ordered. We also chose sides of garlic mashed potatoes and sauted mushrooms which came highly recommended.For dessert we did key lime pie and New York style cheesecake – both with fresh made whip cream. 2 thumbs up.Our bartender made fantastic drinks.I highly recommend that anyone looking for a great steakhouse dining experience hit this place. You will not be disappointed. If possible ask for Michael to be your waiter. ENJOY!!!!
We went to MarkJoseph back in 2010 and were impressed with the ambience, service and ofcourse the food! As soon as we entered the place, guy comes and helps you with your coats in what looks a classy 70s decored upscale restaurant. There were 4 of us so that helped in ordering the huge porterhouse steaks that they offer. We got the steak for 3, lamb chops and the sizzling thick cut bacon appetizer and it was spectacular. The bacon melts in your mouth, we dint come to be healthy here, and is all what we assumed. The lamb chops were good but the steak was nothing short of perfection – a medium rare steak, placed slating on the table for the juices to roll down and served cut into symmetrical chunks with a spoon of juice poured right after! I couldnt ask for anything better than the food and the service I have received at this place. I would definitely recommend this place to everybody I come across!

Great experience. They gladly accommodated a group of 20 during Restaurant Week. The ambience was great – classy without being stuffy – as was the service. The food was also very good. My only gripe is that my 8-oz filet mignon was noticeably undersalted. Still, it was cooked perfectly rare, and it was a great pairing with their impressive creamed spinach. The wine list also has a nice collection of reasonably-priced wines (three of us split a $100 magnum of cab).This is certainly worth visiting again.
Hard to find but well worth it!. This place is real hard to find but it is so worth looking for! You have to try the bacon! Porterhouse for 2 is a must. If you are really lucky someone there will give you an education on the dry age process and how they have nurtured the prime meat before it makes its way to the kitchen. The service is unsurpassed. If I was looking for the best steak I would make Mark Joseph my next stop!
No frills, good steaks. The atmoshphere isn’t great. Definitely an old school wall streeter guy spot.
My favorite.. This is the only restaurant we can think of to spend our special occations.
